Dr. John F. Ogurchak, Jr.

Dr. John F. Ogurchak, Jr., age 69 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born February 11, 1948 in Clairton, he was a son of the late John F. Ogurchak, Sr. and Helen (Maksin) Ogurchak.  John received his bachelor's degree from California University of PA, his master's from Duquesne University, and his doctorate in education from the University of Pittsburgh.  He worked his entire career with the Clairton School District, serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent before retiring in in 2007.  John was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp.  He is survived by his wife of 34 years Margaret (Gori) Ogurchak, his sons Jonathan (Alison) Ogurchak of Robinson Twp. and Christopher Ogurchak of Elizabeth Twp., his grandsons Wylie and Levi Ogurchak, his sister Carol (the late Richard) Manko of Clairton, his brothers-in-law Richard Brendza of Clairton, Robert (Lori) Gori of West Mifflin, and Vincent (Nancy) Gori of Clairton, and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ann Brendza.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Michael Church with Frs. Thomas A. Wagner and Vincent Velas concelebrating.  Procession and entombment will follow to Lebanon Church Cemetery, West Mifflin.  In lieu of flowers, John's family asks that memorial contributions in his name be made to the ALS Society of Greater NY, 42 Broadway, Ste. 1724, New York, NY 10004.
