What if a death occurs away from home?
When funeral arrangements must unexpectedly be made away from home, and family hearts are filled with mixed emotions, it is difficult to make the right decisions without the proper knowledge. One call to our funeral home will alleviate this burden and get the process moving in the right direction.

What to Do First
Most importantly, call Bekavac Funeral Home, day or night. We will take charge from the moment you contact us and assist you with making ALL of the necessary arrangements. One call to our funeral home and we will take care of removing the deceased form the place of death, transportation to a local funeral home, embalming and necessary preparations for a return to the deceased’s home state. Any and all out of state expenses are assumed by us and included as cash advancements on our statement of funeral goods and services. In addition to coordinating the out-of-town services, we will be working with your family to make the necessary arrangements upon the deceased’s, and the deceased’s families, arrival home.

What Do You Save?
We will pay normal out-of-town costs on your behalf. These normal charges include removal from the place of death, standard embalming, transfer of remains to airport, outer transfer container, all documents for transfer and burial, out-of-town funeral facilities, professional staff and services. This means your only additional costs are airline transportation and transfer of remains to our funeral home from the airport. The use of a lightweight transfer casket and outer container will help to keep the airfare to a minimum.

International Travel
If a family member dies while traveling outside the United States, the U.S. Embassy will come to your assistance. You should call us immediately when a death occurs abroad. We are well versed in the procedures for returning the deceased to the United States.

Other Conditions
If the death occurs outside of the forty-eight contiguous states or if your family has already engaged another funeral firm, the staff at Bekavac Funeral Home can, and will, still assist you. Our memberships in national organizations provide us with funeral service contacts worldwide.
