Bernard S. Daczkowski

Bernard S. Daczkowski, age 86 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 in Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth.  Born January 2, 1931 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Stanley and Lottie (Matykiewicz) Daczkowski.  A member of Corpus Christi Parish who also attended St. Michael's Church in Elizabeth Twp., Bernard was a Korean War Veteran of the US Marines and retired as a manager at Continental Can Corp. in West Mifflin.  He was an active member of the Holy Name society and member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.  He loved to bowl with his leagues: the All Ages League and the St. Michael's Bowling League.  But most of all he will be remembered by his family as an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.  Bernard joins his wife of 64 years, the late Marie L. (Bishop) Daczkowski, who passed away November 30, 2016.  He is survived by his children Vickie (William) Tomco of White Oak, Debbie (Scott) Campbell of Forward Twp., David Daczkowski of Elizabeth Twp., and Robin (Don) Super of Cortland, OH; his nine grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; his sister Louise Moon of Greenock; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Michael's Church with Fr. Thomas Wagner officiating.  Procession and interment will follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery in North Versailles.  Bernard's family asks that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Wound Warriors Project - Pittsburgh, 301 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
