Robert L. Maizer, Sr.

Robert L. Maizer, Sr., age 77, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Lawson Nursing Home. He retired from the water treatment plant at U.S. Steel Irvin Works and was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. He enjoyed harness racing, taking care of horses, and was a collector of coins and sports memorabilia. Born January 3, 1940 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Vincent and Mary Louise (Miller) Maizer and husband of the late Regina Marie (Stragand) Maizer who passed away on February 7, 2017. He is survived by his children, Barbara (Robert) Oprosky of Buena Vista, Renee (Joe) Biehl of Greenock, and Robert L. (Hope) Maizer, Jr. of Pleasant Hills; eight grandchildren, Casie, Sara, Richard, Morgan, Hayley, Ian, Ava, and Riley; a great-granddaughter, Melody; a brother, Vincent (Frances) Maizer, Jr. of White Oak; also, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 4-8 PM. A blessing service will take place on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 12 Noon in the funeral home with Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
