Robert L. Lyles

Robert L. Lyles, age 87, of Elizabeth, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the VA Hospital Healthcare System - H.J. Heinz Campus. He was a retired treatment plant operator for West Elizabeth Sanitary Authority. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth and an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Born January 23, 1929 in Oldfort, TN, he was a son of the late Carl and Essie (Blankenship) Lyles and husband of the late Doris J. (Shelton) Lyles. He is survived by daughter, Meloni (John) Lubic of Baden; son, Dale A. (Karla) Lyles of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Mali Lubic of Erie and Darin Lyles of Elizabeth Twp.; sisters, Kay Lipinski, Miki Calogeras, and Brenda Spencer, all of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Vance Lyles of Brunswick, Ohio; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ruth Howell and Roy Lyles. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10 AM in Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.  Memorial contributions in Robert's name should be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth, 411 South Third Avenue, Elizabeth, PA 15037.
