Robert Herman Good, age 94 and a long time resident of Elizabeth Twp. and Ocala, FL, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Point Pleasant Retirement Community in North Versailles, where he resided. Born March 12, 1923 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Ura) Good. A member of Good Samaritan Anglican Church of Liberty Borough, Robert was a proud World War II Veteran of the US Navy, enlisting on February 4, 1943. After attending electrical training at Purdue University, Robert served on the USS Blair Destroyer Escort #147 for three years before his discharge in September of 1946, afterwards serving in the Naval Reserve 0-1 Unit in McKeesport. Returning home, Robert worked for many years at Bell Telephone, starting as a lineman, progressing through switchman, and retiring at age 57 from management in the engineering department. Robert joins his wife of 65 years, the late Dorothy L. (Downes) Good, who passed away November 16, 2010 and his siblings Mary Good Husok and Harold Good. He is survived by his five daughters: Diana (Terry) Shoenbach of Beach Haven, NJ, Suzanne (Thomas) Dittman of Murrysville, and Bobbi (David) Bauer, Dorothy (Dennis) Griffin, and Char (Frank) Tibbitt, all of Elizabeth Twp.; his grandchildren David Shoenbach, Alicia Smith, Amanda Baldinucci, Becky Kohut, Heidi Davis, Ashley Griffin, and Frank, Erin, and Robert Tibbitt; his great-grandchildren Brayden Smith, Troy Baldinucci, and Adysson and Aidan Davis; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 10 AM with Rev. Karl Petterson officiating. Procession and burial with military honors will follow to Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Twp.
