Eleanor (Brooks) Hancharik

Eleanor Hancharik, age 92, of Versailles Boro, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, October 21, 2016. Eleanor was born in McKeesport on January 30, 1924 to her parents the late Alexander and Frances Brooks. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport. She was the past President of the Ladies Auxillary, American Legion Post #361 of McKeesport, a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 146 of Versailles Boro and the Amvets. Eleanor was the wife of the late Michael Hancharik who passed away on April 2, 1996. She was the loving mother of Raymond Hancharik, Robert (Monica) Hancharik, Ralph Hancharik all of McKeesport, Frani (the late Daniel) Bilak of Cross Lanes, WV, Theresa (Bill) Jenkins of Versailles Boro, Kathy (Ken) Dansak of Lincoln Boro and Michael (Michelle) Hancharik of Madison, AL; grandmother of Holly, Ryan, Bobby, Andrea, Sarah, Jared, Kayla, William, Adam and Victoria; great grandmother of Peyton, Luca, Aria, Alexander, Lianna and Anthony. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home & Crematory in Versailles Boro on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 1 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm with a Parastas held in the funeral home on Sunday at 6pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11am in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, McKeesport. Burial will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
