Woneda (Grimes) Custer

Woneda (Grimes) Custer, age 92, of Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Jefferson Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper for Marraccini’s Supermarket in Elizabeth, where she worked for 58 years. She was also a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church. Born September 25, 1928 in Lincoln Borough, she was a daughter of the late Walter L. and Catherine E. (Morgan) Grimes and wife of the late William W. Custer. She is survived by a niece, Darla S. Posney of Tarentum; great-niece, Kayla Posney and great-nephew, Camden J. Posney; also, additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 5 PM until the hour of service at 6PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Riker officiating. In order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and follow CDC social distancing guidelines. You may be asked to limit your visiting time so that all guests will have an opportunity to pay their respects. The family would like to express their understanding to those who are unable to attend due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Private burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth Baptist Church, 735 Bunola River Road, Elizabeth, PA 15037.
