W. Dennis McKnight, age 95, formerly of Belle Vernon, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Country Care Manor in Fayette City. He was a retired milkman for Carl Colteryahn Dairy in Carrick, and also retired from Landmark Security in Elizabeth as a light mechanic. He was a member of the West Newton Wesleyan Nazarene Church and a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War where he served as an aircraft mechanic. Born February 18, 1930, in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Columbus L. and Margaret K. (Shore) McKnight and husband of the late Shirley I. (Gill) McKnight, who were married August 18, 1951. He is survived by sons, Dennis (Trenace) McKnight of Grindstone and the Rev. David (Beatrice) McKnight of Hartfield, VA; daughters, Debra Custer of Rostraver Twp., Diane McKnight of Ebensburg, Donna (Butch) Dunlop of Fayette City and Darlene Mutich of Fayette City; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brother, David D. McKnight of Columbus, OH; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Hazel Ann Huffman and Charles and Robert McKnight. The family would like to thank the caretakers at Country Care Manor in Fayette City, the doctors and staff at Prime Medical Group in Rostraver, the AHN home health nurses and staff, and the OSPTA hospice nurses and staff who attended to him. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Larry T. Coltura officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to West Newton Wesleyan Nazarene Church, 310 Pittsburgh Street, West Newton, PA 15089.
