Stanley C. Yarulis, Sr., age 98, of Monongahela, and formerly of Forward Township and Clairton, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at The Residence at Hilltop, Monongahela. Born January 31, 1926, in Monongahela, he was a son of the late Anthony and Kazimeria (Bagavich) Yarulis. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII where he fought in Burma. He was also one of the founding members of the 475th Infantry Merrill's Marauders BAR Gunner. He was a retired machinist for Corning Inc. in Charleroi and US Steel Clairton Works. He was a former member of the Old Timers Golf League at Butlers Golf Course, a former councilman for the City of Clairton, a member of the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post 75, and the VFW. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Barna) Yarulis who passed away on January 26, 2021. He was survived by his children Judith (Ronald) Carns of Carlisle, Debra (Scott) Benack of Elizabeth, Cynthia (Craig) Raymond of Charleroi, Stanley (Rita) Yarulis, Jr. of Monongahela, and Wendy (Daniel) Martin of Tega Cay, SC; grandchildren David (Jennifer) Walz, Stacey Connors, Scott (Angela) Benack, Kristy (Rick) Wilson, Tim Benack, Jennifer (Jay) Borman, Steven Davis, Nicole Martin, and Hunter and Zachary Yarulis; great-grandchildren William, Fett, Dickie, Aurora, Niaomi, Callie, Kamryn, and Natalie; his son-in-law David Walz of Land-O-Lakes, FL; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter Victoria Walz; and siblings Edith Thompson, Alice Bernosky, Julia Parfitt, and Tony Yarulis. A private burial for Stanley will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements made by the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton.
