Sally A. (Bereznay) Shar

Sally A. (Bereznay) Shar, age  86, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Oasis at Elizabeth. She was an executive secretary for Action Industries and a member of St. Joachim & Anne Parish, St. Michael’s Church in Elizabeth Twp. She was also a member of the Women’s Guild and active volunteer at the church. Born August 30, 1939, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John and Anne (Schrieber) Bereznay and wife of the late John A. Shar. She is survived by stepdaughters, Debra Shar of Clairton, Jodene Shar of Monongahela, and Donna (Dr. Rick) Selby of Arcadia, CA; sister, Florence (Larry) Brancolini of Elizabeth Twp.; also, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Mary Shar; and brother, John T. Bereznay. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 3-7 PM. A funeral mass will take place Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Church, Elizabeth Twp., with Rev. Thomas J. Burke officiating. Private burial in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
