Mildred K. (Werner) Arico

Mildred K. (Werner) Arico, age 98, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, April 30, 2021. She was a self-taught seamstress who made her last quilt at age 98 on January 21, 2021. Born September 27, 1922 in Elizabeth Twp., she was a daughter of the late William Sr. and Grace (Gephart) Werner and wife of the late Nick F. Arico. She is survived by sons, Dan (Sue) Arico of Fairfax, VA, Rob (Jan) Arico of Elizabeth Twp. and Nick (Denise) Arico Jr. of Elizabeth Twp.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Mike Fetchen of Elizabeth Twp.; daughter-in-law, Teena (John) Arico of Elizabeth Twp.; sister, Madeline Lyons of South Huntington Twp.; brother, Jim (Nancy) Werner of Altoona; sister-in-law, Soonie Werner of Minneapolis, MN; also nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Patricia Fetchen and Camille Arico; son, Gary Arico; grandson, Adam Fetchen; sister, Oleda Shoemaker; and brothers, Alfred (her twin), Bill, Chuck, Ralph, Paul and Wilbert Werner. A special thanks to her caregiver and granddaughter, Lori Arico. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 3 to 8 PM. In order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and follow CDC social distancing guidelines. You may be asked to limit your visiting time so that all guests will have an opportunity to pay their respects. A blessing service will take place on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
