Melva Dandrea, age 95 of McKeesport, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born November 16, 1929, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Vojnovich) Evkovich. A devout and active member of St. Sava's Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport, Melva worked at both Gimbel's and Kaufmann's Department Stores. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gene J. Dandrea, and her daughter, Sharon Young. Melva is survived by her children, Jody (Ronald) Kotun of Tierra Verde, FL and Gene David (Abby) Dandrea of Murrysville; her grandchildren Kellie Lewis, Nicholas (Danielle) Lewis, Richard (Alyssa) Young, Frank and Matthew Young, Mario Dandrea, Carrie (Craig) Caterino, and Andrew (Katie) Rodriguez; her great-grandchildren Sheldon and Schyler Chancio, Lucas Lewis, Lilly, Lia, and Zachary Holtzman, McKinley and Richard (III) Young, and Harper, Carson, Theo, and Jordan Rodriguez. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 2 PM until 4 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM with a 6:30 PM Pomen service. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 10 AM in St. Sava's Serbian Orthodox Church, McKeesport, with Very Rev. Stephen Rocknage officiating. Procession and burial will follow to Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
