Matthew M. Laver

Matthew M. Laver, age 34, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Jefferson Hospital. He was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children where he attended the LAVI program. A member of St. Joachim & Anne Parish, St. Michael’s Church, he enjoyed extensive traveling with his family, including two Disney Cruises. He loved animals, music, listening to stories, and special times with his family. Born October 20, 1989, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Michael S. and Theresa A. (Niedziela) Laver with whom he resided; sister, Emily (Joe) Turgeon of Waldorf, MD; niece, Alannah Turgeon; also, aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Church with Rev. Edwin Wichman officiating (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, 201 N Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
