Mary Ann Rabickow Obituary

Mary Ann Rabickow, age 84 of Clairton, passed away at home on Sunday, August 9, 2020.  Born May 30, 1936 in Atlasburg, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Mary B. (Pachucka) Rabickow.  After moving to Clairton in 1950, Mary Ann was member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish (St. Clare of Assisi Church), worked as a bookkeeper for the former Busy Beaver in Clairton, retired as a secretary from Clairton City Hall in 1998, and, after her retirement, worked part time for Three Rivers Bank in Large and the Clairton City FCU.  In her spare time, she loved to bowl, could not wait to go to the casino, and had a green thumb, particularly with her mums and tomatoes.  Mary Ann is survived by her sisters Andrea Shawley of Brentwood and Linda Kutsenkow of Clairton; her sister-in-law Martina Rabickow of Whitehall; her nieces and nephews Christine Wallace, Ricky Rabickow, Michael A. Shawley, Amy and Leslie Kutsenkow,  and Patrick Shawley; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews.  Besides her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother Nick Rabickow, her long time companion Andy Gregg, and her nephew Nicky Rabickow.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.  Only twenty-five people will be permitted at a time; masks are required; CDC and State guidelines will be observed; and social distancing will be enforced on funeral home property.  A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10 AM in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church.  Procession and burial will follow to St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Jefferson Hills. Memorial contributions can be made in Mary Ann's name to Triumph of the Holy Cross (St Clare of Assisi Church) 460 Reed Street Clairton, PA 15025 and UPMC Hospice 200 Lothrop St. Pittsburgh, PA 15213. The Rabickow family would also like to thank the Nurses and Aides from UPMC Hospice for their heart felt care, overwhelming concern and love for Mary Ann.
