Mary (Puskaric) Barchie

Mary Barchie of Oakley, MI and formerly of McKeesport, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 in the Chesaning Comfort Care Center in Chesaning, MI.  Born in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Rupcic) Puskaric.  A retired supervisor at G.C. Murphy Co. in McKeesport, Mary was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and the former Sacred Heart Parish, both in McKeesport.  She was also a member of CFU Lodge #3 in McKeesport, the Bereavement and Ladies of Charity at St. Patrick's Church, the Greek Catholic Union, the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union #77, Club Dobrotvor, and a former choir member and Christian Mothers' member of her church.   Mary also volunteered at Kane Regional Center, Auberle, and The Intersection, all of McKeesport.  She is survived by her husband James J. Barchie, her sister Anne C. (William) Mrdeza of Shelby Twp., MI, and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10 AM in St. Patrick's Church with Fr. Vincent Velas officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery, Port Vue.  Memorial contributions in Mary's name should be made to St. Patrick's Church, 310 32nd. St., McKeesport, PA 15132 or The Intersection, 115 7th. St., McKeesport, PA 15132.
