Obituary

Mark P. Johnston, age 63 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born August 18, 1959 in Columbus, OH, he was a son of the late John D. and Cora Sure (Hugos) Johnson.  A member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton, Mark was a truck driver, working for many companies over the years.  He was a former Mason, associated with the Demolay Boys and Rainbow Girls, was a Boy Scouts of America troop leader, and also served as a staff member at the Heritage Boy Scout Camp.  He is survived by his wife of 26 years Mari Jo (Cornish) Johnston; his children Eric (Ashley) Johnston of Monongahela, Christopher (Alexis) Johnson of New Mexico, and Ashley (Michael) Schroeder of Clairton; his grandchildren Isabella Johnston and Lilleth Schroeder; his sister Shari (Kelly) Harrison of Spring, TX; and also nieces and nephews.  Funeral arrangements for Mark are private at the request of the family and in the charge of the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton.  Contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of Laurel Highlands Council, 1275 Bedford Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15219, www.lhcscouting.org.
