Marie J. (Squires) Ference

Marie J. (Squires) Ference, age 93, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023  at Jefferson Hospital. She was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, St. Isaac Jogues Church in Elrama and was a former postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service in Floreffe and Clairton. Born May 13, 1929 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Stella (Budka) Squires and wife of the late Edward J. Ference. She is survived by daughter, Diane Ference of Jefferson Hills; sons, Daniel (Margie) Ference of Glassport, Robert (Amy) Ference of Rostraver Twp. and Thomas (Lori) Ference of Finleyville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Squires of North Versailles, Thomas Squires of San Jose, CA and Vincent Squires of Lakeland, FL; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Meyer, Phyllis Shuster and Betty Pater, and brother, Ralph Squires. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 10:30 AM in St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church (St. John 23rd Parish) with the Rev. Pierre Falkenhan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Czestochowa Cemetery, White Oak.
