Linda Ann (Hazelbaker) Bernardo

Linda Ann (Hazelbaker) Bernardo, age 64 of Jefferson Hills, passed away at home, surrounded by family, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.  Born March 9, 1962 in Charleroi, she was a daughter of the late James and Helen (Breton) Hazelbaker.  A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, Linda worked first at IRS for 23 years as a tax law specialist and later as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration for 14 years.  After these years of government service, she worked as an administrative assistant with Bekavac Funeral Homes.  Linda was an amazing wife of 29 years to her husband Raffaele "Ralph" Bernardo; an amazing mother to her daughters Leann (Thomas) Ruffing of Jefferson Hills and Lydia (Lewis) Richardson of Pittsburgh; a beloved "Mimi" to her grandchildren Anna, Grace, and Olivia Ruffing; an inseparable sister to Marie Hazelbaker of Charleroi; an aunt and cousin to many; and a dear friend to many more.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10 AM with Fr. John Kist officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp..   In lieu of flowers, Linda's family asks that memorial donations in her name be made to Cancer Bridges, 2816 Smallman St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or at www.cancerbridges.org
