Katherine E. (Zimmer) Johnson

Katherine E. “Cassie” Johnson, age 96, of Lincoln Borough, passed away peacefully at home and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 24, 2018. As a retired employee of the South Hills Health System/Jefferson Hospital, and as one of the original Girl Scout leaders in Lincoln Borough, she was loved by many. She was a member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church, a former member of the Lincoln Borough Mother’s Club, and was a Navy Wave veteran of World War II. She was an avid gardener and nature lover. Born June 15, 1922 in Lincoln Borough, she was a daughter of the late Adolph and Carolina (Maurer) Zimmer, and wife of the late Albert W. "Swede" Johnson Sr. She is survived by her beloved children: daughters, Penny (Mel) Maricic of Liberty Borough, Kathie (Ed) Lostetter of Sewickley Hills and Lennie (Joe) Fiore of West Newton; and son, Albert W. (Rita) Johnson Jr. of Grove City. She is also survived by her cherished eight grandchildren; adored nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  A private service took place in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Twp. There was no visitation. Arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth. The family requests no flowers.
