Katherine L. (Brkovich) Carr

Katherine L. Carr, age 88 of Versailles, passed away at home on Friday, September 1, 2023.   Born December 10, 1934 in Versailles, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Mildred (Brketic) Brkovich.   A 1960 graduate of the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy, where she was a member of the Rho-Chi Honor Society, Katherine retired as a pharmacist for UPMC McKeesport.  She was also a parishioner of Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Patrick's Church in Christy Park and a member of the CFU Lodge #146 of Versailles.  Besides her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Regis G. Carr, who passed away August 13, 2011, and her siblings Ann Tucker and Steve, Frank, John, William, and George Brkovich.  She is survived by her children Allan R. (Cindy) Carr of White Oak and Terri A. (Jimbo) Barry of McKeesport; her grandchildren Jimmy and Katie Barry, Ryan (Laren) and Shane Carr, and Alicia (Chukky) Okobi; great-grandchildren Maddox and Dylan Carr; her sister-in-law Loretta Brkovich; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 3 PM to 8 PM and Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Patrick's Church.  Procession and burial will follow to Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Larosa Youth Club, 901 Ravine St., McKeesport, PA 15132.
