John Rosko, age 95 of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in Arden Courts, Jefferson Hills, Born May 3, 1926 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Itnatoila) Rosko. A US Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, John was a member of Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church of Clairton. John retired as an engineer at Bettis Atomic in West Mifflin and also worked at both Old Overholt Distillery in Large and as a policeman for the City of Clairton. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Martha P. (Geletko) Rosko; his children David J. (Sarah Young) Rosko of Phillipsburg, Kathleen (Frank) Rosko Book of Edinsburg, Linda J. (Thomas) O'Brien of Bethel Park, and Robert J. (Michele Vogel) Rosko of Lake Ariel; his grandchildren Matthew Rosko, Alexis Vesper, Erin (Christopher) Bruno, Lyndsay (Robert) Ward, Kirsten Book, Patrick and Sean O'Brien, and Meghan Rosko; his great-grandchildren J.J., Bennett, Adrian, Joey, Norah, and Roman; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John is preceded in death by his siblings Peter and George Rosko and Mary Pasinsky, and a grandson Brendan. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2 to 6 PM with a 5:30 PM Parastas Service. A Panachida Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11 AM in Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, Clairton, with all services officiated by Fr. Ivan Mina. Procession and burial with military honors will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Clairton. The family would like to invite the funeral attendees to Ciccanti Ristorante on Route 51 South after the Committal Service.
