Obituary

Jane (Remaley) Ganss, age 103, of Sewickley, formerly of West Elizabeth and Pleasant Hills, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the Masonic Village of Sewickley. She was a retired clerk at the West Elizabeth Post Office, a member of Springdale United Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Elizabeth 418 Order of Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron. Born January 9, 1920 in Springdale, she was a daughter of the late James G. and Emma E. (Thompson) Remaley, and wife of the late William J. Ganss Jr. She is survived by son, Jim (Louise) Ganss of Decatur, TN; daughter, Marcie (Bob) Ladley of Jefferson Hills; granddaughter, Christy MacDonald; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. A special thank you to her two great-nieces, Lynn Currie and Beth Hewitt, and the staff of Masonic Village, especially the “A-Team.” Private visitation was at the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth. Burial was in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Village of Sewickley, 1000 Masonic Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143 or a charity of one's choice.
