James Robert Martin, age 74 of West Mifflin, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Born April 4, 1947 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Leonard and Ann (Stupar) Martin. He was a retired member of the US Army, serving at Forts Knox, Dix, Leonard-Wood, and in Germany and retiring as a First Sergeant. After his service, he was a supervisor at the USPS bulk mail handling facility in Warrendale. James was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish -St. Clare Church, Clairton, the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75, and VFW Post #803, both of Clairton. He is survived by his wife Linda G. (Carozzo) Martin; his daughters Geanean M. (Don) Thompson of Jefferson Hills and Kristi A. Martin of Port Vue; his son James Robert (Miranda) Martin, Jr. of Elizabeth Twp; his grandchildren Brandon and Taylor Szuhoza and Jacob, James III, and Aidan Martin; his brother Leonard Martin of Monroeville; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother Richard Martin and his granddaughter-in-law Taylor Lynn Szuhoza. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10 AM in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish - St. Clare Church, Clairton. Procession and burial will follow to Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
