James R. "Jim" Lomis

James "Jim" R. Lomis, age 78 of Munhall and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Eldercrest Nursing Center, Munhall.  Born October 14, 1943 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Margaret Lomis. Jim was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clairton and participated in the Special Olympics, winning medals in bowling.  An avid Ricky Nelson Fan, he loved listening to his records.  Jim enjoyed strumming the guitar, tinkering with electronics, juke boxes, watching “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” playing bingo, and going to Kennywood.  Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.  Jim was survived by his numerous cousins.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his aunt and caretaker Irene Helman and his grandfather John Lomis.  Funeral services and burial for Jim will be held private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles.
