George R. Bercik

George R. Bercik, age 83 of Gill Hall, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Grandview Estates, Elizabeth Twp.   Born May 28, 1936 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George and Anna (Pavlik) Bercik.  A retired mining engineer at the US Bureau of Mines in South Park, George was a Veteran of the US Army and an avid birder and naturalist.  He is survived by his children Joseph M. (Jane) Bercik of Finleyville, Lynn D. (Ed) Calcek of Charleroi, and Angel (Richard) Minda of Forward Twp.; his grandchildren Bryan (Amber) Bercik, Sarah Russell, Nathan Blackburn, Renee (Brian) Blankenship, and Mitchell and Patrick Minda; his great-grandchildren Monroe, Maddyn, and Riley; his siblings Dolores Senko of Vero Beach, FL, Thomas (Barb) Bercik of Jefferson Hills, and Carol Shoemaker of Finleyville; and also nieces and nephews.  Funeral arrangements are private at the request of the family and in the care of the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home of Clairton.
