Francis J. Posa Sr.

Francis J. Posa Sr., age 77, of Blaine Hill, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired after teaching 36 years in the Elizabeth Forward School District. He was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church in Jefferson Hills. He was a former baseball and football coach for the Elizabeth Forward, Clairton and West Jefferson Hills school districts. An avid polka lover, he especially enjoyed traveling with Ray J and the Carousels. He was a member of Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Co. and Stephen Bayard Masonic Lodge 526, and enjoyed traveling and took many cruises. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events. Born July 30, 1941 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Mary L. (Cordero) Posa. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara A. (Couchenour) Posa; daughter, Francine (Ronald) Huss of Sutersville; son, Francis J. Posa Jr. of Forward Twp.; grandchildren, Gina and Matt Huss; also, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 2-8 PM. A Blessing will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard J. Tusky officiating.
