Evelyn J. (Sutton) Thompson

Evelyn J. (Sutton) Thompson, age 75, of Elrama, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Rhodes Estates in New Castle. She was a retired accountant for the McKeesport Housing Authority. She was a member of Elrama United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the craft class making prayer shawls. She was also involved with the Jefferson Hills Board of Elections. Born June 10, 1945 in West Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Larry E. and Margaret L. (Parsons) Sutton. She is survived by her sister, Darla J. Hoagland of New Castle; nieces, Paula Heyman of Austin, TX and Crystal (Bryan) Heverly of West Point, NY; nephews, Craig Moore of Elizabeth and Wesley (Lisa) Hoagland of Bradenton, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Laurel Heyman and Marlene Moore. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, April 9, 2021, from 5-8 PM. In order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and follow CDC social distancing guidelines. You may be asked to limit your visiting time so that all guests will have an opportunity to pay their respects. The family would like to express their understanding to those who are unable to attend due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
