Elizabeth V. (Gorgey) Uremovich

Elizabeth "Betty" V. Uremovich, age 86, of Elrama, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at home. She retired as a secretary in the insurance industry and was a former cook at Lawson’s Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church in Jefferson Hills and a member of Elrama Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Born April 25, 1935 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Veronica (Haluska) Gorgey and wife of the late George F. Uremovich. She is survived by daughters, Karen (Dr. Brian) Rizzo of Glendale, AZ and Beth Henderson of Finleyville; son, George N. Uremovich of Elrama; grandchildren, Sasha and Rachelle Henderson, Tyler, Zachary, Daniella and Gabriela Rizzo, and Nicholas, Steven and Shannon Uremovich; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Taylor Walker; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Kathleen Julian and brother, David Gorgey. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 10:30 AM in St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Pierre Falkenhan officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty Four, PA, 15330.
