Edward M. Withers

Edward M. Withers, age 80, of Jefferson Hills passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Golden Heights Personal Care Home. He was a retired project manager for Wheelabrator-Frye Inc. in Pittsburgh. He was a member of Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth Twp. and enjoyed singing with a barbershop quartet and woodworking. He was an avid football fan and was a former member of the Clemson University football team. Born February 11, 1939 in Floreffe, he was a son of the late Edward O. and Mary (Champion) Withers Porter. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara J. (Black) Withers; daughters, Lori Nicholson of Chatham, VA, Holly (Jeff) Slavin of Painesville, OH and Jill Withers of Columbus, OH; son, Mark E. (Mary Jo Wagner) Withers of Elizabeth; sister, Mary Lou Kline of Strongsville, OH; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; also, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 4-7 PM. A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 12 NOON in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Stephen Hospodar officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
