Constance J. Waltower Coates

Constance J. Waltower Coates, age 79 of Irwin, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at UPMC East, Monroeville.  She was a retired associate for Lowes Home Improvement in Greensburg.  Born November 9, 1945 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Shirley (Fisher) Altmiller.  Constance is survived by her son Jeffrey G. (Sherrie) Nelson of Clarksville, her grandchildren Cody J. Nelson and Brittany L. Nelson, her sister Florence (Ken) Swauger of White Oak, her brother John (Virginia) Altmiller of Elizabeth Twp, and also nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter JoAnn L. Nelson, her grandson baby Nicholas, and her sisters Arlene Durkaj and Shirley Pasternak.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 1 PM to 3 PM and from 5 PM to 7 PM.  The funeral service for Constance will be private at the request of the family, who also ask that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name be made to the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, at www.stroke.org.
