Charles H. Bakewell

Charles H. Bakewell, age 83, of Forward Twp., passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at home. He was a retired educator for 38 years with the West Jefferson Hills School District, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Round Hill Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth Twp. He was a former baseball coach at Thomas Jefferson High School for more than 20 years and a past member and president of the Elizabeth Forward School Board. He enjoyed golfing and attending sporting events, especially Steeler games and high school and collegiate wrestling matches. Born February 10, 1939 in Vestaburg, he was a son of the late Thomas and Jeannette (Fletcher) Bakewell. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia L. (Pasquinelli) Bakewell; daughter, Tricia (Bryan) Nigut of Elizabeth Twp.; sons, Thomas Bakewell of Elizabeth Twp., Joseph (Amy) Bakewell of Towson, MD; grandchildren, Charles and Addyson Nigut, Gabrielle, Justin, Rachel, Derek, Zachary and Riley Bakewell; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Bailey and a brother, Robert Joseph Bakewell. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 1-3 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10AM in Round Hill Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. D. Matthew Stith officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.
