Betty Jane “Janie” (Wilson) LaFrankie, age 80 of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2026. Born August 25, 1946 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, and the devoted wife of the late Robert Francis LaFrankie, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Janie was a loving mother to Robert Keith LaFrankie, the late Jason Wilson (Toni) LaFrankie, and Bradley Stephen (Ellen) LaFrankie. She was the proud grandmother of Wyatt, Nash, Hattie Jane, Cooper, and Maddox, who brought her great joy throughout her life. In addition to her parents, her husband Bob, and son Jason, she is preceded in death by her sister Jacque Taylor. Janie had a warm spirit and a strong sense of community. She spent many years involved with her church, meeting regularly with friends, and participating in her book club. She wasn’t overly expressive, yet she cared deeply and showed it through loyalty, consistency, and the relationships she maintained. Her friends and family will remember her for her sincerity and the steady kindness she carried through life. Friends will be received at A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas a Becket Church Monday, September 28, 2026 at 10AM with Father Michael Peck Officiating. If attending the Mass, please meet at the church. Procession and interment will follow to Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. Her family finds comfort knowing she is reunited with Bob, Jason, and Jacque, and that her legacy continues through her children and grandchildren.
