Barbara J. (Withers) Haywood

Barbara J. Haywood, age 88, of Elizabeth, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 in Beavercreek, Ohio. She attended Journey by Grace Free Methodist Church in Belle Vernon and retired as an executive assistant at Ashland Oil in Floreffe which became Marathon. Born April 21, 1937 in Coal Bluff, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Emma Jane (Williams) Withers and wife of the late Emerson H. “Woody” Haywood. She is survived by son, Gen. James E. Haywood of Xenia, Ohio; grandchildren, Nathan (Corynne) Haywood of Fort Drum, NY, Autumn (Michael Shover) Fetterman of Fairborn, OH and Gregory Gawel of Fairborn, OH; great-grandchildren, Donovan Fetterman, Aaron Shover and Sabrina Haywood; siblings, Bill (Gail) Withers of Jefferson Hills and Cheryl (Chuck) Ayre of Munhall; also, nieces and nephews, C.J. (Candice) Ayre, Jayme Ayre, Nikki Ilgenfritz, Chad (Kherissa) Withers and Troy Withers, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna L. Fetterman and her brother, Robert K. Withers. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Chuck Jack and Bill Bailey co-officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Twp.
