Barbara Ann Burkholder

Barbara Ann Burkholder, age 73, of Elizabeth, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in Jefferson Hospital. She retired as a customer service representative for Highmark. She enjoyed painting and music, Native American culture, and writing and contributing articles to local news publications. She loved her dogs and was the family historian. Born July 1, 1953 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Ruben William and Mary Elizabeth (Philips) Burkholder. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lynn (Jim) Burkholder Littler of Calabash, NC; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Joshua) Howe, Danielle Ashbaugh, Ryan (Amanda Walker) Littler and Zach Littler; great-nieces and nephews, Amelia and Emery Howe; and brother-in-law, Bill Ashbaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Burkholder Ashbaugh. No visitation or services are planned. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements by the Paul E.
