Alma Eileen Caruthers, age 98, of West Elizabeth but spent many years living in Florida, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Arden Court. She was a former member of the Continental Country Club Ladies Golf League and a member of Eastern Star Chapter 491. She loved baking (especially homemade buns and orange cookies), playing cards, and watching the Steelers and Pirates on TV. Born October 30, 1926 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late John and Stella (Green) Henderson and wife of the late William Glen Caruthers. She is survived by children, Nancy E. (Delmar) Opfar of West Elizabeth, Ronald Glen (Patty) Caruthers of Taveres, FL and Karen (Bryan) Butterfield of Chicora; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; she also had special close relationships with her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Gary William Caruthers; grandson, Delmer (Jay) Opfar and siblings, Thelma, Erma, Audrey and Daniel. No visitation or services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 821 Walnut Street, McKeesport, PA 15132. Arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
