William J. Brkovich

William J. Brkovich, age 82 of North Huntingdon, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 in The Grove at Irwin.  Born May 5, 1937 in Versailles, he was a son of the late Matthew and Mildred (Brketic) Brkovich.  A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, William was the former Chief of Police of both Versailles Borough and North Huntingdon Township, a flight instructor at both Rostraver and Allegheny County Airports, and a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66.  He was a member of the Allegheny and Western PA Chiefs Association, the FOP #91, the White Oak American Legion, CFU Versailles Lodge #146, the Civil Air Patrol at the Allegheny County Airport, and a graduate of FBI Training School.  Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by his children James and Roxanne Brkovich and his siblings Ann Tucker and George, "Peaches," Frank, and John Brkovich.  He is survived by his wife Loretta (Goreski) Brkovich; his son Lester "Boo" (Jamie) Brkovich of McKeesport; his stepchildren Marlene (Jeff Brohman) Antonelli of Lakeworth, FL, Michelle Antonelli of North Huntingdon, and Martin (Risa) Antonelli, Jr. of North Huntingdon; his grandchildren C.J., Sarah, and Brian; his sister Katherine Carr of Versailles; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 1 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.  A Blessing will be held in the funeral home on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 9:30 AM with Fr. John Moineau officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family, C/O the funeral home.
