Stanley F. Makoski Sr.

Stanley F. Makoski Sr., age 68, of McKeesport, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service on the North Side. As a child, he was on the safety patrol in elementary school, sang in the youth choir, and served as an altar boy. In his 20s, he took the Civil Service test and passed with a score of 93. Stanley delivered mail to Art Rooney, who often gifted him with a cigar or two. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates and faithfully followed both teams on television. On March 22, he celebrated 15 years of sobriety and being smoke-free. He prided himself on living his life "one day at a time." Born March 22, 1951 in Pittsburgh, he is survived by his son, Stanley F. Makoski Jr.; former wife, Marie Makoski; also, a few close friends and a fellowship of millions. Arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
