Ralph P. Harrington, Sr.

Ralph P. Harrington, Sr., age 85, of West Elizabeth, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. He was a retired truck driver with Picone Trucking in McKeesport and was also employed at McKee-Stewart in West Elizabeth. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict, former mayor of West Elizabeth and a member of the Auxiliary Police in West Elizabeth. Born January 23, 1932 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George and Mary Jane (Stimmell) Harrington. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. (Davis) Harrington; son, Ralph P. (Kimberly) Harrington, Jr. of Jefferson Hills; step-daughter, Sharon “Suzie” Denne of Ligonier; step-son, Donald Wheeler of Clairton; also, 8 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Robert “Peanut” Wheeler. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jude Urso officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery, West Mifflin.
