Michelle (Galloway) Monte

Michelle (Galloway) Monte, age 50, of Forward Twp., passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at UPMC Shadyside. She was a nurse manager for 28 years for Same Day Surgery and Recovery at Monongahela Valley Hospital. A member of Elrama United Methodist Church, she enjoyed her job as a nurse and most especially spending time with her family and daughter, Gia. Born March 7, 1967 in New Eagle, she was a daughter of Jim Galloway (Patty O'Barto) of Elizabeth Twp. and the late Nancy (Vibostak) Galloway. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth J. Monte; daughter, Gia Monte at home; sisters, Lisa (Nick Nickolich) Galloway of Clairton and Denise (Tony DiMatteo) Kohut of Monongahela; brothers, Keith (Nicole) Galloway, Kirk (Paula Pappas) Galloway, and Wade (Jennifer) Galloway, all of Elizabeth Twp.; father- and mother-in-law, John and Joan Monte of Mt. Lebanon; nieces and nephews, Kara, Ashley, TJ, Jeramy, Griffin, Landon, Josh, Jordan, Brianna, Riley, and Hunter; also, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Hal Dangel officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michelle Monte Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Elizabeth Forward Swim Club, P.O. Box 45, McKeesport, PA 15135.
