Mary "Mame" (Kovka) Mazzola

Mary "Mame" (Kovka) Mazzola, 94 of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Goodyear, AZ.  Born on August 21, 1923 in McKeesport,  she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Pido) Kovka.  Mary was a member of the Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Clairton and a former employee of J.C. Penney when it was located in Southland Shops, Pleasant Hills.  Mary was a graduate of Clairton High School and remained a lifetime resident of Clairton.  She was the wife of the late Guido "Lee" Mazzola and is survived by daughter Carol (Roger) Selznick of Goodyear, AZ; sons; Kenneth (Nancy) Mazzola of Clairton and Robert (the late Mary Ann) Mazzola of McKeesport; grandchildren Kenneth Mazzola, Jr., Shawn (Kristi) Mazzola, Carol (Aaron) Whiteman and Ami (Jason) Macke; and seven great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM with a Parastas at 7:30 PM.  A Panachyda will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 31, 2017 in the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Clairton.
