Lily M. (Brown) Walter

Lily M. (Brown) Walter, of Sewickley, formerly of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. Born in Elizabeth on January 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late David and Virgie (Haywood) Brown and wife of the late Shimer Walter for 60 years. She is survived by children, James K. Walter (Lisa) of Bluffton, Ohio and Linda K. Schaefer (John) of Harmony Twp.; grandchildren, Jeremy Walter of Philadelphia and Megan Walter of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by sister, Geri Cochran of Clairton and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brother, David Brown. Lily was a lifelong member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton and member of the AARP and Ladies Auxiliary, Clairton. She also volunteered at the Clairton Food Bank and Meals on Wheels. Lily was a resident at Concordia of Franklin Park for 12 years. Friends and family will be received on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 1:30 PM - 3 PM at the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with service immediately following. Contributions can be made to Pine Run United Methodist Church, 901 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025 or Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
