Joseph B. "Wazu" Yaksick

Joseph B. "Wazu" Yaksick, age 69 of Philadelphia, passed away in his home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  Born July 9, 1948 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Rose J. (Lasich) Yaksick.  Joseph was a member of the Painters Union in Philadelphia and enjoyed filling free time with his oil paintings.  He was a graduate of Drexel University in finance but found himself always going back to painting.  Joseph is survived by siblings: Katherine Yaksick of Philadelphia, Frances (Duwayne) Stewart of Rostraver, Nina C. Yaksick of Washington, Andrea A. (Kevin) Powers of Beaver, Natalie Y. Yaksick of Jefferson Hills, Nada H. Yaksick of Jefferson Hills, Rudolph C. Yaksick, Ph.D., of Philadelphia, Matthew (Vida) Yaksick of Brooklyn, NY, Raymond (Pamela) Yaksick of Pleasant Hills and Blaise Yaksick of Brooklyn, NY.  He is also survived by nieces and nephew: Sean Stewart, Amanda Yaksick, and Lee Yaksick-Cross. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 9 AM till the time of the Blessing at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel.
