Joseph M. Slavick

Joseph M. Slavick, age 77, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at home. An Army veteran, he retired as a construction worker for Local Union 1058 in Pittsburgh.  He was a former manager for the Forward Twp. Baseball Association and former football coach for the Elizabeth Forward Athletic Association. He was an avid golfer and a Pittsburgh Steeler, Pirates and Penguins fan. Born November 4, 1940 in Elizabeth Twp., he was a son of the late Paul M. and Stephanna (Anjeski) Slavick. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ronalee Slavick; daughter, Marci (Thomas) Yockey of Northville, MI; two sons, Ronald P. (Angela) Slavick of Westland, MI, and Joseph Slavick of Texas; grandchildren, Isabella Yockey, Joseph, Benjamin and William Slavick; sisters, Stella Smith of Forward Twp., JoAnn (Elliott) Weiss of Jefferson Hills and Patricia Wedel of Pleasant Hills; brothers, Paul (Virginia) Slavick of West Elizabeth, George (Judy) Slavick of Elizabeth Twp. and Michael Slavick of Belle Vernon; also, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, John Slavick, and sisters, Mary Catherine Soukovich, Phyllis Martin, Margaret Roberts and Marion McKernan. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, December 8, 2017, from 5 until the time of memorial gathering at 7 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Morse officiating.
