Joseph E. Ramsey, Jr.

Joseph E. Ramsey, Jr., age 90 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Southwestern Nursing Center in West Mifflin.  Born October 12, 1927 in Cambridge, OH, he was a son of the late Joseph and Matilda (Lipincott) Ramsey.  A retired driver for Dick Corporation in Jefferson Hills, Joseph was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church and a US Army Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.  He was also a member of both the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75 of Clairton and the AARP Chapter #1612 of Wilson.  He is survived by his wife Florence (Coughenour) Ramsey; his children Mary Ann Martin of Clairton, David (Kim) Ramsey of Jefferson Hills, Craig (Connie) Ramsey of Elizabeth Twp., and Curtis (Melonie) Ramsey of Port Vue; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces; and siblings Dorothy Koonce of Shadyside, OH, Donna Robson of Columbus, OH, Charles Ramsey of Liberty Borough, Rollie Ramsey of Beverly, OH, and Bud Bates of Bellaire, OH.  Besides his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter Diana Sickler and siblings Betty Ramsey, Mary Ann Van Dyne, Josephine Ruzich, and Karen Ramsey.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM.  There is no visitation nor services scheduled for the Fourth of July holiday.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:30 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Michael Airgood officiating.  Procession and burial to follow to Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.  Memorial contributions in Joseph's name should be made to Three Rivers Hospice, 2500 Mosside Blvd., Monroeville, PA 15146.
