James F. Svec

James F. Svec, age 78, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Jefferson Hospital. A retired group benefits administrator for Alcoa in Pittsburgh, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Twp. He was also a member of the East McKeesport Masonic Lodge #765 of Duquesne, the North Huntingdon AARP, a lifetime member of the Central Volunteer Fire Company, and was a former civil service coordinator in Elizabeth Twp. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing dart ball at Central Highlands. Born December 2, 1939 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Frank and Esther (Ammon) Svec. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn M. (Murman) Svec; daughter, Sherry (Randall) Hough of Elizabeth Twp.; son, Jeff Svec of Jeanette; five grandchildren, Nathaniel (Ashley), Joshua (Hollie), and Rachel Hough and Cody and Andrew Svec; sister, Sandra (Michael) Coulter of Melbourne, FL; also nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Svec. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth, on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jack Piper officiating. Burial to follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, SW Region, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
