James H. Elms

James H. Elms, age 57 of Clairton and formerly of Lakeland, FL, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017.  Born July 11, 1959 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Herman W. and Loretta M. Elms.  James was a very hard worker, working as a dry wall finisher and in masonry, but most recently as a cook with Elliot's Backstreet Barbecue in Jefferson Hills.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the hometown Steelers and Panthers, but more importantly he was a great father, grandfather, and brother who will be loved and missed by all of those close to him.  He is survived by his children Jeremy Elms of Clairton and Brittany Elms of Elizabeth; his granddaughter Ella Rose Elms; his siblings Jackie (Michael) Kollros of Winston Salem, NC, Bruce (Deborah) Elms of Pleasant Hills, and Keith and Daniel (Robin) Elms, both of Lakeland, FL; his former wife Kathleen Elms of Elizabeth; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by two of his brothers John Thomas "Tommy" Elms and Michael Wayne "Mickey" Elms.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the request of the family.
