Helen B. (Korona) Gogoel

Helen B. (Korona) Gogoel, age 99, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. She was a member of St. Michael Parish where she was the oldest living member; she was baptized, had her First Communion, was confirmed, married and now buried from the church. She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and was a volunteer at the church flea market and Lenten fish fry and at the Clothes Closet at Round Hill Presbyterian Church. Born December 8, 1918 in Elizabeth Twp., she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Katharine (Fritz) Korona and wife of the late Michael J. Gogoel Jr. who passed away December 26, 1986. She is survived by daughters, Katharine (Arthur) Hohn of Ruffsdale, Barbara (Jimmy) Pascotti of Elizabeth Twp., Michele Boyd of Elizabeth Twp., Claire (David) Bench of Austin, TX, and Bernadette Thompson of Cheswick; son, Michael J. Gogoel III of Elizabeth Twp.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Edna Barvilcak, and brothers, John and Joseph Korona. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 2-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 9:30 AM in St. Michael Parish with Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Parish, 101 McLay Drive, Elizabeth, PA 15037.
