I met Frank and his wife in 2013 when I first entered my race for the Third Ward Council Seat. They were so supportive and when he called, if I wasn't available, I made sure to call him back. It was important that we spoke. I was so sorry to hear of his wife's passing, I know he was so devoted to her as she was to him. When it was time to make decisions again as to whether to run for office, once I made that decision, I knew I had to tell Mr. Zovko. He had always had my back. He always wanted me to go further, but I told him I was busy doing the best for the people that mattered to me. I'll miss talking to him. But, he is with his lovely wife and I know he is truly happy now. God's Peace with Frank and with all those who mourn his passing.

I started at Irvin Works in 1976 and Frank was in the same department as me. I will never forget him taking me down on the line to train me, he set everything up and told me to keep an eye on things he’ll be right back…. Well two hours later he returned and found me in a big mess I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing. Frank got me straightened around and from that day forward we were best friends!
When my girls were born he gave each of them a silver dollar from the year of their birth which really touched me because this was the same gift that was given to me from my grandparents.
As our friendship grew he introduced me to Lenore and the three of us became good friends, we would meet for drinks at local establishments and have a good time. Frank and Lenore made a great couple. When Lenore started having health issues Frank was beside himself, he would have moved heaven and earth to make her well. After Lenore’s passing I honestly thought Frank would die from a broken heart, we would talk on the phone and he just was so lonely without her. Christmas came and he just couldn’t bring himself to celebrate without her by his side. Frank told me he was staying home he didn’t want his children to see him down and then have them also be sad. I tried to talk him into going but he was so bull headed once his mind was made up there was no changing it… you had to respect that about him he was his own person and stuck by his decisions.
I will miss his phone calls and the two of us reminiscing, we had plans to go to the Olive Garden for lunch and he was buying he made sure to tell me. It’s worth missing that lunch knowing he is back with Lenore and reunited with his son. What a reunion that must have been.
Thanks for your friendship Fag (a nickname I gave him years ago) forty one years worth, not many people are lucky enough to say that.
Love, Janet
Deepest sympathy to all of Franks family, he was the best.

Frank, you were like a father to me. I had such good times with you and Lenore. I always looked up to you with love and respect. I will miss you both so very much. Maybe some day we will all meet up again. Looking forward to that time. Give Alice and Lenore my love when you see them.
GOD BLESS YOU

Frank will be sorely missed by so many of us. He was a great man with a heart of gold and a huge personality. At least he will now be with his Norie. She will once again be happy and proud to have him at her side.
