Edward Phillips Obituary

Edward “Flip” Phillips, 84, of Little River, SC, and formerly of McKeesport and Elizabeth Borough, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at home. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he retired from the Maintenance Department of the Airbrake Division of Westinghouse in Turtle Creek. Born March 4, 1934 in DuBois, he was a son of the late Melvel and Hazel (Connor) Phillips and husband of the late Alice (Metzler) Phillips. He is survived by children, Linda (Donald) Paranick of Traverse City, MI; Sharon (David) Melani of Lexington Park, MD; Kenneth (Patricia) Phillips of Monongahela, and Carole Phillips Sever of Herminie;15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; Alice’s children and grandchildren; siblings, Janet Reynolds of McKeesport; George Phillips of Jefferson, OR; Pam Kochman of McKeesport; Dan Phillips of New York, NY; Rick Phillips of Richmond, VA, and Gail Phillips of McKeesport; also survived by his former wife, Joan Teti Dilts. A private ceremony and burial will take place in South Carolina. Local arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth. Donations in Flip's name can be made to the Special Olympics Allegheny, 404 1st. Street, Carnegie, PA 15106.
